About Udine, Italy

- Getting There
Udine is 100 km (62 mi) NE of Venice and 75 km (47 mi) NW of Trieste. It is easily accessible by plane, train, or car.

By Plane
There are three main airports serving the North East of Italy:
- Venezia, VCE (Venice Marco Polo airport) is the best for international flights
- From the airport, take the bus to the Mestre Railway Station. There are two bus services (both also go to ‘Venice - Piazzale Roma’ – don’t take that):
- From the Mestre Railway Station, trains run almost every hour to Udine. The trip takes about 1 hr 40 min and costs 12-28 € depending on the time and speed.
- From the Udine train station, the conference venue is about 1 km (0.6 mi) away, a 10-15 min walk.
- Trieste, TRS (Ronchi dei Legionari airport) is the closest airport to Udine and has flights mainly from Europe and connections to Rome and Frankfurt international hubs.
- From the airport, preferred connection to Udine is by bus through the G51 line: please check the TPL FVG Travel Planner page for the bus schedule and prices. The trip takes about 40 min and costs 5.50 €.
- From the airport, a train service to Udine is also available: please check Trenitalia for the train schedule and prices. The trip duration and costs 8-20 € depend on the time and speed.
- From the Udine train station, the conference venue is about 1 km (0.6 mi) away, a 10-15 min walk.
- Treviso, TSV (Antonio Canova airport) is a low-cost airport mainly for European flights
- From the airport, take the public bus to the Treviso Central Railway Station. The bus runs every 30 min and takes 20 min. You can plan your journey on the Mobilità di Marca website for the bus schedule and prices.
- From the Treviso Railway Station, trains run almost every hour to Udine. The trip takes about 1 hr 20 min and costs 12-28 € depending on the time and speed.
- From the Udine train station, the conference venue is about 1 km (0.6 mi) away, a 10-15 min walk.
By Train
Udine is on the main line from Venice to Vienna. Trains from Venice run almost every hour. From Venice the trip to Udine is about 2 hours. From Vienna the trip takes about 6 hours.

By Car
Udine is on the A23 motorway Udine-Tarvisio. If you are approaching via the A4 Venezia-Trieste motorway, exit at “Udine Sud”.

- Hotels
The conference host, CISM, gets a discount rate at the hotels listed here: https://www.cism.it/hotel-udine. When booking, be sure to mention that you’re attending a CISM event. Some are walkable to the venue and some require a car.
Upon request and subject to availability, a limited number of participants can be accommodated at the CISM Guest House for 35 € per person per night. After registering for the conference, it is possible to request accommodation by contacting foresteria@cism.it.
